Congratulations to the 2015-2016 Lookout 4H officers that were elected last night! I am so excited to see what you will do with our club! The list of the new officers and committee members is located on our Contact page.
Also congratulations are in order to our graduating Seniors: David Winguard Adam Traylor John Paul Allen Dustin Alexander Josh Hammonds Making the best better! Rachelle Dear 4-H Members and Parents/Guardians,
As things are winding down for the 2014-2015 4-H year, we are looking toward the future. For those of you that were not able to attend the March meeting, you may have heard by now that I will be acting as our club manager next year. So, I would like to briefly introduce myself. My name is Rachelle Walley and I'm married to Johnny. We have 6 children active in Lookout 4-H. Johnny and I were both 4-H members growing up and think 4-H is an exceptional organization where youth have the opportunity to grow and become leaders. I am excited about what the future holds for us and hope you are as well. I look forward to getting to know you all better and hope you will have patience with me. My phone number is 903-312-8370 and my email is [email protected]. Please feel free to contact me with any input you may have. At our April meeting we will be electing officers and a Queen's Candidate for the upcoming year. We will also be forming some special committees to help with club planning. You will find a description of the purpose and responsibilities for each office and committee included with this letter and posted on our website (lookout4h.weebly.com). If you are interested in holding an office or serving on a committee, I would encourage you to read these carefully and be sure that you are willing and able to fulfill these responsibilities to the best of your ability. The officers will be expected to arrive at each meeting at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting and will also be expected to meet several times during the summer to plan for the upcoming year. At the March meeting, I spoke to our parents/guardians regarding projects. My hope is that we can start some new projects and offer experiences in addition to the ones already in place. To this end, included with this letter is a survey for our members to help determine what you are interested in. Parents/Guardians please also review the survey to see if there is an area where you would be willing to help. Please bring the completed survey to the April meeting or you can complete the survey on out website mentioned above. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Looking forward to an exciting year! Rachelle Well here goes nothing. I've never done this before, so I'm not really sure of what I'm doing. Isn't that often true in life? or maybe it's just me? I tend to jump into things and worry about how to do it later. So..... later is here and I need to get my ducks in a row.
The Cherokee County Jr. Livestock Show was this past weekend and that always feels like the conclusion of our 4-H year. We are planning to elect next year's officers at the next meeting on April 13th. I will be sending out a letter and a description of each of the office'rs duties. We are hoping to add new projects for the upcoming year and I can't wait to see what everyone is interested in. Please click on Project Survey to the left and complete the survey and let me know. Hopefully, in the future our club Reporter and maybe our Secretary can take over the responsibility for posting to this blog, but for now I guess I will give it a whirl. That's all I have at the moment and will be keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to figure out how to find my way back here to post again in the future. Rachelle |
